PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This Lake Maggiore renovation project took place in the charming village of Suna, a picturesque destination on Lake Maggiore known for its timeless Italian charm. I personally managed this turnkey renovation from design to completion, transforming an early 1900s fisherman’s house into a refined lakeside residence that honors its original soul.

Originally built as a fisherman’s home and later used as a blacksmith’s workshop in the 1980s, the property’s layered history guided every step of this Italian home restoration. Together with the owner — a renowned American theater set designer — and my team of architects, interior designers, and renovation specialists, we carried out a complete architectural renovation in Italy that preserved the building’s heritage while adding modern comfort and functionality.

Winter Garden Design & Guest Studio

One highlight of this Lake Maggiore renovation project is the winter garden design, a bright extension connecting indoor and outdoor living spaces through light and transparency. We also created a guest studio apartment to host friends and visitors with the same warmth and elegance as the main residence.

The result is a sophisticated blend of modern design and historic architecture — a true example of craftsmanship and creativity on the shores of Lake Maggiore. This project reflects my passion for Italian home renovations, where history and design meet in perfect harmony.
